So far I have built a logical case for the truth of Christianity, which Is based on the Bible. By providing evidences from scientific
observations. I have shown God's existence. 2) By showing the textual and historical reliability I have proved the accounts in the Bible are genuine and can be trusted. And 3) by analyzing Jesus; life, His miracles, the fulfillment of Messianic prophecies and, most of all, the historical truth of the resurrection, we must logically concluded that Jesus indeed is the divine Son of God, and the Bible is to believe as inspired by God The dramatic importance of these conclusions makes it only prudent to take an additional step of verification. Christianity not only claims the Bible is grounded in history,
it also claims it is the actual Word of God. That is, the Bible is God's revelation to man. It contains
His instructions to us, written in a manner understandable to men and women
alike. And because we have failed (and will continue to fail) to
perfectly obey His commands, He has also revealed His plan to save us from
His just wrath through the
sacrifice and blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.
When I discussed the evidences for
God's existence, I revealed; that recent scientific
discoveries in astrobiology, molecular biology, and
genetics reveal the work of design by a Creator. Once again, Christians can
turn to science to discover that the texts of the Bible reveal
scientific knowledge known only in recent times; therefore it was wholly
unknown to the authors when the Bible was written.
Who penned the Bible?
Now I would like to make it clear that the Bible is
clear about its claims to divine inspiration. By Hearing the testimonies of
both Old Testament and New Testament writers: Here are just a few
references. Moses: And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM. This is what you
are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you (Exodus 3:14)
Joshua: After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, The Lord said to
Joshua son of Nun, Moses aide: (Joshua 1:1).The prophet Samuel: And the Lord
said to Samuel, See, I am to do something in Israel that will make the ears
of everyone who hears of it tingle (1 Samuel 3:11). King David: The Spirit
of the Lord spoke through me; His word was on my tongue (2 Samuel 23:2).
The prophet Isaiah: The Lord Almighty has revealed
this in my hearing: Till your dying day this sin will not be atoned for,
says the Lord, the Lord Almighty (Isaiah 22:14). The prophet Jeremiah: This
is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: This is what the Lord, the
God of Israel , says: Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you
(Jeremiah 30:1-2).
The apostle Peter: In those days Peter stood up among
the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty) and said,
Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke long
ago through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who served as guide for
those who arrested Jesus (Acts 1:15-16).The apostle Paul: All Scripture is
God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training
in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for
every good work (2 Timothy 3:16. The apostle John: I am the Alpha and the
Omega, says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who
is to come, the Almighty
Revelation 1:8. So the Bible is boldly and Unambiguous when it claims
to be the Word of God. Impressive, true, but is there external evidence for
this?
Question then, How Does One Prove Divine Inspiration?
It is one thing to claim divine inspiration and quite
another matter to prove it. After all, this is a rather outrageous claim.
Obviously it will be insufficient to say that merely because the Bible is
historically reliable and claims to be the Word of God; it therefore is the
Word of God. No, we need more solid and objective evidences. After all,
there are other books, such as the Quran and the Book of Mormon that claim
to be the Word of God, and yet they contradict and even discredit the Bible.
God cannot contradict Himself, and His Word cannot contradict itself.
Therefore only one of these books can
at best be the Word of
God. Convincing and compelling evidence that the Bible is God;s Word will
also implicitly demonstrate that other holy books cannot be Gods Word.
Fortunately, the Lord has give multiple confirmations of the divine authority of His Word. And
as with the evidences previously discussed, once again, modern day
discoveries, knowledge and science are our allies in this search for the
truth. In this section, I discussed proof for God's inspiration of
Scriptures unknown to many of the generations before us! These evidences are
grouped into the following categories: Scientific revelations: The Bible
reveals knowledge and scientific insights beyond anything the Biblical
author could have known at the time of writing.
Prophecies:
The Bible Predicts events that are accurately
fulfilled later in history. Unity: Written throughout 15 centuries by more
than 40 authors, the Bible presents one, and only one plan for salvation
through Christ from the just wrath of God. Ability
to transform lives: Like no other book, the Bible continues to have the
power to radically transform the lives of its readers many times instantly.
Testimony of Christ: The Bible is
declared to be the Word of God by the Son of God. Now at this point an
intelligent person must make a decision to Acknowledge all the evidence or
to reject them. I have talked to many people who make the claim that men
wrote the Bible, but this does not follow logically with historical,
geographical, prophetic, and Scientific accuracy that is revealed in God's
words the Bible. The sad fact
about those who make this claim is that they have not personally taken the
time and effort to investigate for themselves.
Since the God's words clearly states
that we have been given a personal choice to either accept the free gift of
eternal life or reject it. God did
not give us a neutral or middle of the road selection.
God's word clearly uses the word if,
in regards to our eternal destination. We cannot sit on the fence we must
either acknowledge that we are sinners in need of a savior (Jesus Christ) or
reject His salvation. Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus
as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you
will be saved; 1st John 1:5-10
This is the message we have heard from Him and
announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship
with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from
all sin. if we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the
truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to
forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say
that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. God
declares, and clearly says that there is not one Good person in his eyes;
Romans 3:12 all have turned aside, together they have become
useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one.
Romans 3:23
;for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God My beloved sister,
after you have thoroughly tested all the evidence I have provided, I believe
you will find that it is accurate. there is a conscience decision all of us
have to make. we can return the
love that god has offered us or reject this love. there is no middle road
however; god has not left that option open to us. so chose we must, one road
or the other. there is only one path that leads to God .
Acts 4:12;
Acts 10:43 John 14:6; 1st Timothy 2:5, Acts 4:11 he is the stone you
builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone Acts 4:12 salvations is
found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to
mankind, by which we must be saved. John 14:6 Jesus answered, I am the way
and the truth and the life. no one comes to the father except through Me.
I Corinthians 10:21 you cannot drink
the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in
both the Lord's table and the table of demons. Matthew 12:30" he who is not
with me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
We are to test everything In 1st Thess. 5:12 tell us
to examine or test everything carefully hold fast to that which is good. the
Berea in acts 17:10-12 were commended because they examined the
scriptures daily to see whether Paul's statements were accurate and in
accord with scriptures. Then we must make a choice to follow our way or God's
way Intellectual excusesThus, the rejection of the bible as God's inspired
words, and rejecting Christ's only way of eternal salvation, is often not
so much of the" mind," but of the" will;" not so much "I can't," but "I
won't." Once again God has given us all a free will to either accept Him or
reject Him. There is no middle road or I will take my chances road.
A question for you the reader of this article, which road will you chose?
